September 19th vs Cambrian WSOC
Our Wolves women's soccer team was back at home on Friday for the first Feed the Pack game of the Varsity season. Algonquin would put their 3-0 record on the line against a Cambrian Shield squad who was hungry for their 1st win.
This was the Wolves 1st game since the September 10th home opener. Coach Basil Phillips squad didn't show any signs of rust, scoring the games 1st goal in the 7th minute off the foot of #17 Kassandra Da Cruz who stole the ball at the top of the box and fired it into the back of the net for her 2nd goal of the season. Just 1 minute later, #5 Mallory Armstrong would double the Wolves lead with her 1st of the season thanks to an assist from #6 Allyssa Tate. Tate would pick up her 2nd assist of the game in the 19th minute finding 2nd year striker #25 Alex Aubin. The Wolves would take their 3-nil lead into the locker room.
Aubin would continue her hot start scoring the Wolves 4th and final goal off a beautiful feed from Kassandra Da Cruz sending her in alone against the Cambrian keeper. The Shield would get on the board in the 87th minute when Molly Watson scored off a free kick that found the top corner of the goal, but that was as close as they would get. The Wolves earned the 3 points with a 4-1 win.
September 20th vs Lakehead Orillia
On Saturday the Wolves welcomed the Lakehead Orillia Thunderwolves to the Algonquin sports field. Lakehead Orillia are making their OCAA outdoor soccer debut this season and this was their 1st trip to Ottawa. They entered the match with a 1-2-1 record after dropping a 1-nil decision to the St. Lawrence Surge the night before.

The 1st goal came early in the 5th minute with the Wolves executing off a corner kick. #11 Danika Mader earned an assist. The 2nd goal came in the 32nd minute when Kassandra Da Cruz intercepted a pass and found Aubin who deflected it past the Lakehead keeper.
