MEN'S SOCCER EARN SPOT IN CCAA 1/2 FINAL

The Wolves opened up their CCAA National Championship run with a 2-nil ¼ Final win over the RSEQ champions Champlain Saint-Lambert Cavaliers.

As one would expect at a National Championship, both teams were evenly matched.  Algonquin came out on top thanks to some solid defense in front of keeper Olivier Langlois who also contributed with 10 saves.  Connor David opened the scoring in the 19th minute when he got his foot on a ball that was bouncing around in the box to find the back of the net.  The Wolves would add another in the 73rd minute when Gershom Dupuy scored on a feed from Jaeden Mercure.  4th year midfielder Cristian Aviles-Moline earner player of the game honours.

The Wolves will now take on the PacWest champions Langara Falcons from Vancouver BC in the ½ Final with a spot in the gold medal game on the line.  The Falcons earned their spot in the ½ thanks to a 1-nil win over the host St. Thomas in their ¼ final.

The game will kick-off at 5:30 pm AST, 4:30 pm EST at Grant Harvey Field in Fredericton, New Brunswick. Those wishing to watch from home can do so at the following link:
