2024 OCAA SOCCER SCHEDULES OFFICIALLY RELEASED

The Wolves soccer season is right around the corner and the OCAA has officially released the 2024 schedules.

Both teams will kick off the season with a tough test as they travel to Toronto to take on the George Brown Huskies on Sunday September 8th.  The women's game is set to start at 1:00 pm with the men's game to follow at 3:00 pm.    The first chance to catch the Wolves at home will be on Saturday September 14th when the Fleming Knights come to town for a double header.  The following day the Wolves will welcome the Durham Lords to the Algonquin Sports Field.  The start time on both days are set for 1:00 pm (Women's) and 3:15 pm (Men's).

The OCAA Final Four will take place on October 25th to 27th with the winner qualifying for the CCAA National Championships on November 4th to 10th.  The women's National Championship will be hosted by Capilano University in Vancouver, B.C, while the men's championship will be hosted by St. Thomas University in Fredericton, New Brunswick.  On the men's side, the OCAA has earned a wildcard spot, meaning 2 teams from Ontario will represent the OCAA at the National Championships.

The Women's team finished the 2023 season with a 6-3-1 record, good for 5th in the OCAA East standings.  The team secured a win in the first round of the playoffs on the road at Cambrian before losing a close one to the top seed in the West, the Humber Hawks in the ¼ final.  Coach Basil Phillips' squad has reached the ¼ final in back to back years since returning to the pitch.  They will be looking to carry that momentum forward going into 2024.

The men's team also finished with a 6-3-1 record in 2023, earning them the 4th spot in the East standings and the right to host the Durham Lords in the first round of the OCAA playoffs.  The Wolves took down the Lords 2-0, earning their spot in the ¼ finals against the eventual champion Conestoga Condors.  The coaches and players are looking forward to getting back on the pitch and working towards another successful season.

Details regarding training camp and open tryouts will be out in the coming weeks.  Make sure to keep an eye on AlgonquinWolves.com for details.
