Men's Basketball

Coach Trevor Costello has been involved with the Algonquin Men’s Basketball Program for 30 years.  Over the years Trevor has played for Algonquin, where he and his team won an OCAA Championship. Costello has been coaching the men's team for over 27 years.  He began as an assistant coach and 4 years later he took over as the head coach of the program.  

During his time as Head Coach, Trevor has won more than 400 games, claimed one OCAA Championship title and has medalled at the CCAA National Championships twice. Aside from his team successes, Coach Costello also received the CCAA Coach of the Year award in 2012 and has been the recipient of the OCAA East Division Coach of the Year award six times. He has coached many All-Star and All-Canadian players and has sent many student-athletes to USPORTS to further their education and basketball careers. Trevor gives thanks and praise to his mentor Hugh Lynn, former Algonquin College Head Coach, and to former Algonquin Athletics Director, Ron Port, who both have been a great support for him. He is especially proud of his two children Tessah and Treyden and gives thanks to his long time Assistant Coach, Jim Langis.
