After taking on the Seneca Sting on Friday night, the Wolves will travel down to Barrie, ON to take on the Georgian Grizzlies. This is a highly anticipated matchup for our women's team who faced their toughest test of the season back on November 1st at the ARC when they came away with a low scoring 47-42 win over the Grizzlies. Algonquin goes into the matchup undefeated, in the top spot of the OCAA East standings, the top spot of the OCAA overall rankings and number 2 in the CCAA National rankings. As for Georgian, they hold the 2nd spot in the OCAA East with an 8-2 record.
The men's team is also in for a tough test. The Wolves enter the weekend in 4th in the East at 9-4. Georgian holds the 2 spot in the standings at 11-2. They will take on the La Cité Coyotes on Friday night before hosting the Wolves on Saturday. In their last meeting the Grizzlies took down the Wolves 80-78 after a Tesloch Luk 3 for the win rimmed out and the Wolves were unable to convert on the putback. The team will be looking to avenge the loss and improve their positioning as the regular season winds down.
