The Wolves men's basketball team ended the first semester on a high note by taking down crosstown rival La Cité 90-65 in front of a loud crowd at the ARC. The win avenged an overtime loss to the Coyotes from a few weeks prior. While we look forward to some more Wolves basketball action in 2024, let's take a look at the semester that was.
Algonquin finished the first semester with a 3-7 record, which has them sitting in the 8th spot of the OCAA East standings. They picked up wins over Loyalist, Fleming and La Cité. Despite their record, the Wolves have been competitive in many games this season. 3 of their 7 losses were by 2 possessions or less.
The team will hope to improve on their record in the second semester, and they will lean on their home court advantage to help them do so. Their 4 home games will be against opponents who are either below them, or a few spots above them in the standings. They will kick things off on Friday January 12th when the Seneca Sting come to town. They will be looking to avenge their 69-68 loss they suffered on November 25th in Toronto.
