OCAA Announces Basketball Schedules for 2022-23

OCAA Announces Basketball Schedules for 2022-23

On the afternoon of June 23rd the OCAA officially released the men's and women's basketball schedules for the 2022-23 season.  Both Wolves teams are coming off of successful seasons in 2022, with the men reaching the OCAA ¼ finals and the women making it to the Final 4.  This season will see a return to a full schedule with the Wolves competing in the OCAA East division.

The season will kick off at home on October 28th when the Wolves will welcome the St. Lawrence Surge to town for a double header.  The women's game will tip-off at 6:00 PM and the men will follow at 8:00 PM.

Notable Women's Games

Mark Saturday November 12th and Saturday January 28th down on your calendars as the women's team will be taking on the Centennial Colts.  In 2022, the team finished off the regular season with back to back games against the Colts with both teams coming into the weekend with identical records.  These games did not disappoint with the Wolves sneaking away with two point wins 55-53 and 56-54.  The Wolves will host the Colts in the first matchup and travel to Centennial for the rematch.

Notable Men's Games

After taking the 2021-22 season off, cross town rival La Cité will be back this season.  The rivalry will be renewed on Friday December 2nd when the Wolves will host the Coyotes in the final game of the first semester.  The teams will meet again on January 11th to kick off the 2nd half of the schedule.  This time the Wolves will make the short trip across town for a 7:00 PM tip-off at La Cité.

Both teams will battle all season with hopes of earning a spot in the OCAA playoffs which will kick off on February 25th.  The women's OCAA Final 8 will be hosted by Niagara College and the Men's tournament will take place at St. Clair College.
