WOLVES SOCCER HITS THE ROAD TO TAKE ON 2 OF THE TOP 3 TEAMS IN THE EAST

WOLVES SOCCER HITS THE ROAD TO TAKE ON 2 OF THE TOP 3 TEAMS IN THE EAST

The Wolves women's and men's soccer teams are getting set for their biggest road trip of the 2025-26 season.  They will head to the GTA on Saturday and Sunday to take on the Seneca Sting and Centennial Colts.  On both sides, the Wolves, Colts and Sting own the top 3 spots in the OCAA East.  With the Colts and Sting facing off on Wednesday there will be some clarity in the OCAA soccer playoff picture by the end of the weekend.

On the women's side, prior to Wednesday's Colts and Sting matchup the Wolves hold the top spot with a 7-0 record.  The Sting and Colts are not far behind at 6-0.  All 3 teams have dominated the East this season.  Centennial owns the best goal differential with 46 goals scored and 2 against.  Seneca has conceded just 1 goal and scored 30.  Algonquin has scored 31 times and given up 3.  In the 2024-25 season, the Wolves made the same road trip at the same time of year.  Algonquin dropped 2 close ones 1-nil to the Sting and 3-1 to the Colts.  We are hoping for different results this time around.

The men's picture is very similar with the Wolves, Sting and Colts holding the top 3 spots of the East standings.  Algonquin enters the week in sole possession of 1st with a 7-0 record.  Seneca sits at 5-0-1 with Centennial not far behind at 4-0-2.  Algonquin has been a force offensively scoring 47 goals through 6 matches.  3 of the top 5 scorers in the OCAA are from the Wolves roster.  This weekend will be their toughest test yet as they take on Seneca and Centennial teams who have given up only 3 and 5 goals each this season.
