After an outstanding season that saw the Wolves post an impressive 9-1 record, several members of the Algonquin Wolves women's soccer team have been recognized with OCAA honours.
Wolves Head Coach Basil Phillips has been named the OCAA East Division Coach of the Year. In his eighth season at the helm, Phillips guided the Wolves to a 9-1 record, and finished the regular season as the number 2 seed in the East Division. This marks his first career Coach of the Year award.
Four Wolves were named OCAA East Division First-Team All-Stars: Paige King, Olivia Bradley, Kassandra Da Cruz, and Alex Aubin.
Third-year goalkeeper Paige King was a force in net for the Wolves, earning her first career All-Star selection. King started nine games this season, posting a 1.06 goals-against average and leading the OCAA with 6 shutouts.
Second-year defender Olivia Bradley earned her second consecutive First-Team All-Star recognition after anchoring a defensive unit that allowed only 36 shots on goal all season. Bradley also contributed offensively with one goal and one assist.
Third-year midfielder Kassandra Da Cruz built on her Second-Team All-Star performance from last year, earning a First-Team All-Star nod this season. A key offensive catalyst for the Wolves, Da Cruz led the OCAA with 10 assists while adding four goals for a total of 18 points in 11 appearances.
Second-year striker Alex Aubin had a breakout campaign, improving on last year's Second-Team All-Star recognition. Aubin finished second in the OCAA with 12 goals and added 5 assists for 29 points. She also topped the OCAA in game-winning goals with four.
Rounding out the award winners is first-year defender Ashley Woodcock, who earned a spot on the OCAA East Division All-Rookie Team after a strong debut season. Woodcock started eight of 10 regular-season games and was a key contributor to the Wolves' defensive success.
